I just bought a Telecaster from Guitar Center here in Phoenix, Az. It looks much like the new Tele that Bill Kirchen plays ( Butterscotch Blonde with a black pick guard not the Coal Burner). The selector switch is at the rear and the volume knob is towards the neck. Basically a flip flop job. Anyhow is it posible that Bill Kirchen himself was helping to build this run of Telecasters at the factory in Mexico or is it a Bill Kirchen inspired model??? I am told there was limited number of these built. I am a VERY BIG fan of Bill Kirchen. What is the story behind this run of Telecasters? This is one of my favorites. This Tele has a great sound and thpickups sound like the 52 reissue types but I dont have much info on the specs. HELP!!!

BTW it is like the black top model but it has single coil pickups like a regular Tele has. I think Bill Kirchen was messing around in the Fender factory in Mexico. But maybe I am wrong.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of the pioneers tried reversing their control
plate to make it easier to do volume swells. I've tried it, but ended up
reverting back to the standard config.

It's listed as a FSR standard ash tele at musicians friend, it's only available at GC, MF, and music123. GC owns them all.

I love this set up. I first saw Bill Kirchen use this set up. And it was bought like this. Looks like Bills guitar too.
