If I was less than clear, I apologize Dennis, but I wasn't making fun Avril Lavigne's signature Tele.
I was making fun of Fallen's "flat earth" opinion of Telecaster orthodoxy.

Nice music room, BTW!!!

Like I said before Fallen, I didn't ask you for your opinion.
Now get back to playing your Roy Rogers cowboy songs on your black and white Telecaster.

I didn't say you did asked for my opinion. If you cant take someone saying they particularly don't like something and respond in a offensive manner don't post on a forum where everyone can respond if that is the case then send it in a pm or grow up emotionally it seems childish I didn't see anywhere in that original post you say "No one else respond" I only said it wasn't for me and I couldn't see me using it you on the other hand got offended and defensive posting pictures and making cracks about my taste why? Because I stated that color scheme wasn't for me in a nice way makes me deserve that? No not really so why don't we drop it and leave it at that and get back to topic and wait for pictures of the Tele being built :)

Listen dude, I didn't comment on your earlier expressed opinion as to which pickguard you liked.
And I didn't ask you for your smart $@! opinion to my suggestion.
So get lost since you have nothing more to add to this discussion.

MickJagger, thanks for taking the time to post the pics... I'm gonna roll with the one I've got on there... perhaps it's just the way they photograph, but I see a photo and say, Ooh, that's the one and it ends up not being. The photo of the one you sent to me looks a little off too...maybe it's the lack of yellow in it. I can certainly live with the one I've got on there so I'm not going to obsess over it.

Anyhow... on to bigger and better tasks. I got portions of the bigsby done, finished the wiring...just need the neck plate so I can install the neck and finish mounting the bigsby.I just have the trem arm assembly to screw down and then it's off for to my tech for the finishing touches.

I appreciate all the serious input and sharing of ideas but things seem to be getting out of hand in this thread. Remember what Grandma said, if you don't have something nice to say... :)

Cool Jam Guy.
I only suggested it because you were looking you something that was more red.
I agree that it would be a bit of a gamble on your burst, and that you would only know if it would work by trying it.

That said, I always thought that the "red tortous" which I showed you, which is fairly hard to find, would look cool on a black Tele.
Of course, I'm sure there would be differences of opinion on that, and that's why it's fun to build your own guitar!!
Looking forward to the completion of your build, Jam Guy, and I'm sorry for the distractions.

Firts reply from me-I myself like JamGuy's better and as I've stated before I really just like white pickgaurds since they are neutral. That red and black one I dont think would appeal to me on any Tele.Just because Telecasters to me look smooth, classy, and vintage even new ones and that is sharp and flashy so it contrasts. Just my opinion but I would never put that on any Tele ever lol

Reply from you-Fallen, I don't recall asking you for your silly opinion as to what you think a Telecaster should look like.
Just my opinion of course, but after such a silly statement, I would never ask you what to put on any Tele ever. lol

Now go back to practicing your Roy Rodgers songs on your white-on-white Tele.
Twang, Twang, dude!! lol

So go back and read you did started it by being disrespectful. So grow up. And yes I am here because Im waiting to see the pictures you just started a bunch of stuff and kept it going with a negative attitude I thought you were joking at first and I said nothing wrong and you got more and more abrasive :)

Hey Guys - I wasn't really hurt about the comments about my black & white Avril Lavigne guitar - just being my usual smart $@! self. My playing partner bought the guitar used at GC, took it home and did a pro setup (that's what he does), put on 10s, then decided he didn't like it after all and took it back to GC. When he told me, I ran right in there and bought it - worth $50+ just for his setup! I paid $125 for it and worth every penny!

JamGuy - I think your red tortoise pickguard looks great - go for it!

Oh the guitar is fine I wouldnt say a guitar is bad because its all about the player Id just state and opinion if its something I would personally own or not or what i like/dislike about it but if you like that Tele that is great Im glad you found a Tele for a good price that you like :)

No one cares about what you don't like, Fallen.
What is it that you don't understand about that?

What I don't understand is how one can be so dense and disrespectful once again you're just being rude you are one person you don't speak for everyone I only stated a friendly comment and you blew it way out of proportion like a child if you don't like it then don't respond instead of becoming a troll on the internet and trying to egg people on.Also I left it on topic of the pickguard you just stated a bunch of nonsense leading it to this you could have just had a normal response and it would have just ended at that. And again if you don't like people posting opinions don't post on a forum that is open to the public I hate to see how you are in real life your social skills must be terrible. So now I'm going to walk away from this and be the bigger person and let it get back to topic because you have no intention of not being condescending it seems kinda like a complex.Reply if you want but it will just prove my point you are a internet troll and shouldn't be on forums.Have a nice day/life :)

Well at long last (or so it seemed) I got the neck plate today... it was pretty cool, it's got the big "F" and I had it engraved with my pops' birthday, he passed away about a year ago so it's kind of a tribute to him and a cool way to remember him I thought, anyhow... his birthday would have been a serial number used likely during 66, hence the kind of 60's theme going on with the guitar.

I got the neck mounted but due to a lack of a nut, couldn't really get the bigsby installation finished... it seemed it had potential to go WAY off course so I had to just say STOP before I screwed something up and took it to my guitar guy... he's going to fishing the bigsby install after installing a nut and then get the rest of it sorted out for me... he does an awesome job so I know it's going to come home playing like butter.

Now...the waiting game. Luckily I have plenty of schoolwork to help kill the time!
