Hi there i recently bought my first fender american special tele
Everything looked awesome. But when i got home to test my new guitar out i noticed
some annoying fret buzz all over the A and E string. Im no expert in fixing guitars but i do know this can easily be fixed.I have fixed my other guitars from the same thing but to be honest i dont even dare to mess with the fender .
Im a litle bit too scared to mess things up .Luckily the store offered me 2 free set ups.
I really did not expect for such a quality guitar to have fret buzz right out of the box.
Is this common to get fret buzz right out of the box or was it just one out of the million ?

Sounds like you need to take the store up on a free setup. Especially if you're concerned about doing the setup yourself. A simple setup should fix the problem and you should be good to go. I played an American Special and was very impressed, I'm sure you will be too once it's playing like it's supposed to.

and yes, a bit of buzz "out of the box" is fairly common with almost all brands/quality level of guitars.
if it's even set up before it ships, it's sent from building to building, some climate controlled, some not.....in trucks/delivery vans, some climate controlled, some not.......then it sits in a storage warehouse, then a stockroom, and finally to the purchaser.
ANY guitar that isn't set-up and playable at the time of purchase (meaning ANY boxed guitars) should have a set-up done before even trying to play them.

my 72 deluxe has some fret buzz, in some places, but it is only minor and does not come through the amp. Advice that I have seen often repeated on this forum, is that with issues like this, if it does not come through the amp then it is not a cause for concern. Though certainly, if it annoys you then fix it.

Very common with fenders.
Easily remedied.
If there is room to raise the action, cool.
If not, then a shim is applied to the neck pocket.

My jag needed a shim...out of the box.
Neither tele did, however.

Fret buzz is common on poorly set up instruments. But, all guitars will buzz if you pick hard enough! The guitar just needs to be set up for you and your style of playing. :D

Also if you have a good luthier i might suggest getting a fret dress, it can make a word of difference
