I'm trying to put a switch into my highway one telecaster which in position 1 will bypass the volume and tone knob, position 2 will bypass just the volume know, and 3 will be normal. I thought this would be relatively straight forward, but then after looking at the circuit for the grease bucket tone knob, there is only one wire to the tone. This completely threw me off base and i dont know how to do it!

Does anyone have any advice?

The drawing is correct. It just does not show a ground wire between pots. I guess they depend on the pot to control plate mounting for grounding. The Hwy 1 Strat is the same way. I added the Greasebucket to my Strat, but I used a ground wire between the pots.
