I recently decided to swap out my white pickguard on my 50's Tele for a black one. I think it was the right choice - I like this look. I wanted to post some pics for those that may be considering doing the same and wondering what it would look like.

I like a tortoise shell guard with that finish. Black pearloid looks good too. I save all of my white guards so I can put on now and then and see if I notice the finish differences after playing a lot.

Looks good!

I like it. I recently did the same with my Roadworn '50's Tele. Replaced the reliced white pickguard w/ a reliced Bakelite guard.

How do you like your Classic Series 50's Tele? I haven't played one, but I've got a Classic Series 60's Tele. I think the 60's is a great guitar - I'm sure your 50's Tele is the same.

Looks classier with the black guard IMO. I like a little contrast.

I'm not sure how I missed all these responses to my original post here but I haven't responded yet. Sorry!
Anyway, thanks everyone for the kind words.

RickyD - I really like the 50's CS. The frets take a bit getting used to though. They are the Vintage Style and much different than my other Teles. The radius is different also (7.5). Overall though, this is a great guitar.

Thanks again all!

Since this post started I've ordered one. It should be here in about a week and a half. I can't wait! 8)
