i'm not sure i'm getting the tele yet but just to see what i could do with it any one know any good tele humbuckers for it on bridge? i like the sh-5 custom, the sh-4 jb and the super distortion pickups and i'm going for a nice punk/ pop punk/ grunge/ metal tone
i also like the sound of the emg hz sro bridge humbucker but since it's a recent pickup i don't expect to get such a similar tone

Why not trying the Jim Root signature? This guitar suits the music styles you're craving for to perfection.

As you're also a Strat fan, nothing that a matching pair of JR Strat and Tele can deliver all these punk/garage rock/grunge/metal tones you're seeking for.

PS: Tele Pluses with the red Lace bridge humbucker seem to be a good alternative. Same thing for the BlackTop HH.

Try :
Bridge: Little '59™ for Tele ST59-1b
Neck: P-90 Stack® STK-P1

I have the Little 59' in my tele and it won't do metal, at least not with my amp. A friend of mine was starting a Nine Inch Nails type band and asked me to record some stuff with him. I could not get the tone he was looking for. As for classic rock, blues, country and pop, that pick up is awesome!

"i aint got the money for a blacktop"

they only cost like, $800. probably less from where your from.

what suprised me the most about mine was that it still has that distinct tele twang, despite the humbuckers.
