Hi, I recently had my guitar stolen, and considering the price of used telecasters on the market I'm going the custom-made route.

But I've run into a problem.

MY tele had a blue lace sensor and red humbucking lace sensor.

But I do not know the switching, especially a certain position, where both pickups were selected, and they were just fat together, I'm not sure if it was parallel or series.

Thanks so much in advance, anything is helpful!

Wildshoe,

Bummer! I'd hate to have my guitars stolen.

As to your question, I could see it being either/or, to be honest. The "fat" sound can be used to describe a single coil and a humbucker in parallel or in series. In series it's far "fatter" but it may be beyond what you're looking for. It's typical to wire everything in parallel...in other words, that's the "standard" whereas moving to series would be a mod that deviates from that standard.

Consequently, there's always the option for using a push-pull pot to go from series to parallel. I've seen wiring diagrams, that can be found easily enough online, that would allow for that. Plus that gives you the most versatility.

Hope this helps.

They are in series. See here: http://i482.photobucket.com/albums/rr18 ... ySwtch.jpg (it's for a strat, but the wiring is the same for a tele)

so I know that the humbucker was in series when both were activated,

my question was there was a middle position my tele plus where both the neck singlecoil and bridge humbucker where it would get quite fat

That would be bridge (in series, assuming the toggle in middle position) in parallel with the neck pickup.
