With my tele, when i bend the high e string past the 15th fret it just mutes the note when you bend it up nearly a whole step or further. what could be the causes of this and are there any potential solutions? thanks

What could cause it?
The fret
The neck
The bridge

If the fret is not level or worn.
If the neck has too little relief or is warped. (Sometimes, neck issues may be easily fixed by shimming - it gives the saddle/bridge more room to maneuver)
If the saddle of that string is too low.

Hi seansbluesroom,

The setup as a whole should be looked at, as AngryHatter suggested. The first obvious place to start is to try raising the saddle of the affected string. Loosen (detune) the string/strings to relieve the downward pressure on the saddle, then screw in the two Allen screws (or flat blade screws for vintage type saddles) on each side of the saddle 1/4 to 1/2 turn each, retune string and check, repeat if necessary. You should also check the neck relief (bow) if the action is too high after raising the saddles. The setup guide can be useful if you like to do your own setups, it is only a good starting point, you can then adjust to taste. :)
