i am looking to get into the tele zone....usually play strats....are there some years that are better than others??...are the thinlines ok compared to standard or custom teles??...is the reissue 52 a starter or great tele?? thx in advance, jocky

I would go for a Baja tele I've heard they're good, but as for the thinline. I have a 72 tele, but it has humbuckers (not too tele like) so I would go for the 69 thinline of the baja or something else! You pretty much have to go to the store and try everything. :lol:

a freind of mine sold his 50's tele and bought a 52 tele ri. he did a few upgrades like the bridge and saddles. I told him the other day that i hate that he had to sell his old tele and he told me that it is ok because his ri was a better guiter. THis guy is a great guitar,a dn he works on all my guitars at my local shop. he knows hi sstuff

I like it so much that I am buying the 72 Classic Series Telecaster thinline this week. I like the versatility in sound. Although he plays through a Hot Rod, I am anxious to hear it on my FM212R.[/b]
