Post subject: Pole screws

How should the screws on the pickup itself be set on a humbucker? I set them to match the arch of the neck and saddle. Don't know if this changed the sound any.
Does it matter? I'm refering to a blacktop Tele.

Plain and simple: Regardless of the guitar, you adjust them so that they are close to being level with the pickup bobbin (or pickup cover as the case may be) in such a manner so that when YOU play the guitar, each string is heard evenly.
