I bought a Fender Tele made in Korea and its a nice instrument. A birds eye maple fretboard and Seymour Duncan bridge pick up. I'm not sure if the neck is a SD. I was wondering if someone could give me some information about MIK teles because google just isn't telling me anything. Thank you !Image

Sounds to me like a Lite Ash Tele. If it is, it's a great guitar. I believe both pickups were SD. Try looking up the Lite ash in your searches. I think you will find great reviews.

Hi Rickks5,

Pictures would help.

Upload your pics to a publicly viewable site like Photbucket (free), then copy the "IMG" code for each pic that you want to show, and paste the code into your post here. When you click "Preview" or "Submit" your pic will show in your post. The code will look like this, inside the code box below. :)

Code:

That's a Lite Ash Tele. It's a "Special Edition". The Fender logo on your headstock should also be done in chrome color like the one pictured here.. They were introduced in 06 and discontinued in 09 most believe because they offered higher end features (birds eye maple, MOP fret markers, upgraded body woods) and were competing to well with the American Standard. Although Fender does still offer Special Edition models it's notable that they have not offered any in a traditional Tele configuration since they discontinued this series. They sold for about $700 new and are still available in Australia.

A Koa model of the same guitar (see pic) was also offered. I've changed out the PG and Bridge on this one. A standard Fender PG will not fit because although it is 22 frets there is no overhang at the fretboard so the guard has to be recessed more where it meets the neck. The pearl looks great but if you decide to change it you'll have to have one made (Pickguard Heaven) can do that for you and have a standard pattern for it since they did mine.

I also own an Am Std and this one gets much more play. It's simply a kick butt guitar. And, yes both pups are Duncan. (APTR-1 Neck) (APTL-1 Bridge)
both alnico II's

Congrats
