Hey all,
not a regular poster here but will be coming back more often in the future. I just picked up a blonde Nashville Telecaster and a Version II Telecaster Plus. Maybe many of you already know this, but it was news to me so I am passing it along: the pickguards for the Nashville and the Plus are not interchangeable.

The guy that had the Plus before me had "converted" it to a 2 pickup guitar, and I bought a supposedly new but unpackaged Tele Plus pickguard to convert it back. Problem is, it doesn't work, and I realize that what I actually recieved was a Nashville pickguard.

The middle pickup on a Nashville is too close to the bridge, and on the Plus guitar the swimming pool routing does not go far enough down to allow a Nashville spaced middle pup to fit. After looking more closely at other Pluses online, I can see there is a larger amount of pickguard material between the bridge and middle pickup.

So, just thought I would share that... and pose a question: Can anyone compare the spacing on the American or Japanese models with 3 pickups (I think a limited run of Deluxes after they stopped the Plus, and perhaps others, and I have seen at least one Japanese "nashville" tele), and also with the Blackout Teles (although I understand the pickups are a little different sized)? Just curious.

I have been looking at some of the pick guards listed on ebay which are claiming to be official Fender issued Tele Plus pickguards, but I am convinced after some quick on screen measurements that they are actually Nashville spaced, not Plus. I wonder if anyone has ever had a problem with this.
