Telecaster Custom II...has P90s...which is a remake of the orginial now by Squire.

I can only find Squires with P-90s, but in the late 60's they made "Slab hard tail" telecasters...and they are very hard to find...what is the serial #. If it doesn't have one, then someone probably made it...must sound good.

You need to take the neck off and see if there is a serial #. Otherwise, it may simply be a 'Tele mutt or upgrade' or redone Squire.....

Won't the Customer Service Dept help you identify it?

You may want to join up (free) and ask there.

The P 90 and the dates match up to the Custom shop "Slab Hard Tails".

Unusual and not many around. Fender was putting Hums and P90's expermenting at one point from what I've found out...so...

I'd try a vintage place. The guys at Subway Guitar in Ca. may know. They have played with them for years.

Unfortunitely the luthier I know in Ca, is old and tired. Just does speciality work for some Rock stars...but he would know.

The company is so large now they don't have time to answer every question, which is why they created this board. They'd have to add 100 to every guitar to answer every question now. Larger doesn't mean better anymore....sadly. Now Gibson is going the same way it seems....bought out/merger with a Danish company and they are starting rumors they are moving the plant...to run up the price on American made. Sucks.
