Hey Ralf, the pickups are made by TV Jones. The neck pup is a TV Jones Classic and the bridge a TV Jones Classic Plus.

I agree with Mike. Obviously Fender makes some great guitars, but building your own is a whole lot of fun and you can get it exactly how you want it down to every minute spec. Next up for me will be a Strat build.

update on this build. i finally got the body, beck and parts back. everything looks great. the vintage blonde color looks super and the relic and finish checking looks super authentic. neck looks really nice with the finish all worn off the back of it and the fretboad a nice medium relic and a nice dark amber nitro tint which contrasts the blonde body beautifully. Decided to scrap the plans for TV Jones pups and have some mini humbuckers installed instead. My luthier winds some amazing pups and he is going to set me up with a nice set of mini's. Should be another week or two before I get pics but I'll be sure to update asap. If anyone needs some TVJ's at a nice price let me know, i have the no ears mount set for Tele's with the classic neck and classic plus bridge in nickel brand new never instlaled. Should be another week or two before I get pics but

Finally finished my build. What started as a La Cabronita build transformed itself into an entirely different beast! I scraped the idea of the TV Jones pups and had my luthier wind me a set of his mini humbuckers. I got to play one of the real Cabronitas and just decided that the TV Jones werent what I was looking for. The Minis are still very versatile and can give me the thickness i want in the tone and do it all. The neck pup has some super smooth jazzy smoky blues tone, the middle can get anything from strat to gretsch to tele and the bridge is balls to the wall when you dial up the tone. This guitar is super resonant and when played unplugged it is LOUD. It is light to medium weight for a Tele. This one is a keeper. I played it out on Tuesday night and everyone was talking about how great the mini's sounded and how awesome my tone was...and I am a terrible guitarist so that says a lot. Gotta give some shoutouts to three people who helped make this project turn out as well as it did.

Marc Rutters. He cut the swamp ash body for me and built the bridge and saddles. The guy makes some of if not the best vintage styled and hot rodded Tele hardware out there. He also makes some great bodies and necks. Really nice guy to deal with, get in touch with him and he will take care of you.

Mark and Jenny at MJT Aged Finishes. This was the second body and neck these guys finished for me. They are top notch when it comes to relics and aging. If you can envision it, they can make it a reality. IMO these guys are tops when it comes to relics. I'll definitely have them finish another kit for me very soon.

David Shepard, my luthier and owner of Level Frets guitarworks. Let's face it, your luthier is like your investment advisor and when you find a good one you have to give him his due respect. Dave is a great luthier and came highly recommended by several of my musician friends who opinions I value highly. His pickups are amazing. Period. He made me a set of P-90's once and I had never heard P-90's that killer. After talking to him about not liking the TV Jones that much, he suggested trying out some mini buckers for this build and he was right, they really were the way to go. If you are looking for a certain tone but can't seem to find it, give Dave a shout and he will make you some that will blow you away.

My camera sucks and the pics make it look a lot less reliced/aged than it actually is. The neck is a lot darker than the pics and the pups and bridge a lot more aged. NOTE: I added the F waterslide myself.

NOW on to the next build!
