Ever since I played a real La Cabronita I have been wanting to build my own. You all may remember he last Tele I built, well it turned out so well I decided to go ahead with my La Cab build. Here is what I have so far, minus the neck which is going through inspection by my luthier as I type, but looked to be perfect when I eyed it out. It is a Musikraft 21 fret, 6100 jumbo, medium c shape, 9.5 radius, 1 11/16 nut solid maple with vintage thin skunk stripe. I am going to have body, neck and hardware given a medium relic/aging. Finish color for body is going to be either a thin vintage blonde or a yellowed vintage white, but definitely thin so this beautiful woodgrain can flow through. If you are looking for someone to cut you a Tele or Strat style body at a reasonable price while still getting top notch and master craftsmanship, Marc Rutters is your man. he also makes some of the best vintage and hot rod style hardware around.
http://ruttersguitars.com/home.html

-Marc Rutters Swamp Ash T Style body cut to 50's specs
-Marc Rutters cold rolled steel half plate bridge
-Marc Rutters brass compensated TV Jones spaced saddles
-TV Jones Classic Plus Bridge and Classic Neck pups
-Glendale guitars fat neck plate
-Glendale Guitars string ferrules (3 aluminum, 3 brass)
-Fender vintage style tuners
-Fender vintage string tree
-All Parts nickel jack cup

More to come...

I don't like the snakehead either. I'd go vintage blonde or what they used to call 'cream'. A friend just put a Rutters bridge on his Tele. Really well machined and finished.

Good luck!

And how about the "Bad Boy" side of La Cabronita :?:

Agree, traditional headstock is the way to go. Great looking bridge!
Love these build threads. Thanks for sharing.

I love these builds 8) ...if you are going with the La Cabronita thing, why not try a brighter color like CAR or LPB  :?: ...the La Cabs always seem to me to be a bit of a (no offense here) hillbilly kind of vibe, so a bright color vs a traditional tele color might be just the thing...IMHO

Either way, keep the pics coming on this thread.

Well funny enough LPB was my first choice for a color, but with how great the woodgrain on the body looks I am going to go with something more transparent. Vintage blonde/cream with a light yellowing to it is what I have decided on. Marc Rutters is a pro at what he does and his hardware is right up there with Glendale's hardware. I cant say enough about how good it was to work with Marc. Here are some pics of the neck. The fret work on it from Musikraft is just perfect, smooth as can be on the edges and I dige the thin vintage skunk stripe. Can't wait to get it sprayed with some nitro and darken it up a bit.

Understand yep, that is some great wood grain...and if you want to show it off how about two color sunburst :!: I have not see a LC with that color, might make it unique...however I am a big sunburst fan, so I might be just a bit biased

The grain of that swamp ash does look really fine! I hope that the cream or off-white is transparent enough to show through. Maybe like this?

I already have my Dreamcaster in Shoreline Gold! :D LPB and Fiesta red were both options before I saw the wood grain on this body.

Mike something like this with just a little bit more yellowing and a bit more relic to it. (you may have to login to ebay to see):
