Here's an extremely interesting Thinline Tele '72 I've found on Fender Japan's official website.

This guitar has a bound rosewood neck with shell block markers, a matching headstock and - what a pleasant surprise! - a pair of Filter Tron humbuckers instead of the usual Wide Range types.

Looks great! Wonder how it plays and sounds.

Those position markers add to the 'white gold' appearance.

Beautiful - especially with the bound neck and matching headstock. Any idea on the price in USD?

Why oh Why can't we avail of the lovely Fenders they have on the Japanese market? That should be a fabulous sounding guitar. Thanks for posting. I guess we could all keep checking at http://guitarsjapan.com until one shows up there othewise we'll never see or be able to get one.

I believe it's not the first time Fender Japan uses Gretsch pickups in a Tele. I think they also did a couple of Strats with HiLo-Tron single-coils and TV Jones soapbars.

The Paul Waller-Masterbuilt TeleGretscher guitar utilises similar pickups, I suppose.

That Telegretscher is quite a work of art also-just beautiful.

I have never heard of a Telegretscher but it is also a beauty. Love to get my hands on one and see what it sounds like. Don't need the Bigsby though.
