Hi guys, I have a Fender Blacktop tele that I slapped a chrome Rolling Stones sticker on (it kinda has a black and chrome thing going on) and was wondering if there's any sort of clear protective coating i could apply that would protect the decal but not damage the guitar?
this is is btw.

Since it is a sticker, there is not too many options for you. You COULD spray some clear finish over it, but you would have to spray and buff the whole body so there would be no over spray. Even then there will always be a ridge along the edges of the sticker, and the finish will likely keep wearing off the sticker quickly. The best advise is, just play until your sticker wears, then replace the sticker. When the time comes to remove the old sticker, naptha (lighter fluid) removes sticker residue very well. :)

I'd be more concerned with the sticker reacting with the finish on the guitar. Some adhesives contain chemicals that can react with paint finishes and cause anything from discolouration to the finish disolving. It's best to use static cling or non-adhesive type stickers on guitars or even better none at all because eventually UV rays will be blocked from the finish under the sticker causing uneven fading. If you must use stickers it's safest to use them on the pickguard.
As for a finish for the sticker I would imagine very carefully applied clear nail polish may work yet that may react with the paints in the sticker.

Why risk ruining the finish on that nice Tele. If you want that on the guitar so bad have it painted on by a pro done the right way. No damage to the finish and it would look alot better than a sticker.
