I'm considering buying a 3TSB Deluxe Nashville Tele. The Fender-applied label on the guitar says that its an ash body but the specs here on the Fender site say the 3TSB is alder. Anyone know which they really use for this model with 3TSB?

Also, is there a difference in quality with the Deluxe series over the standard, or is it just a matter of extra features (in this case, the extra Strat pickup, 5-way switching, and use of Tex-Mex pickups)? I looked at a standard and it looks the same, quality-wise. Both the standard and Deluxe Nashville are priced the same in the store...

Opinions of the Deluxe Nashville Tele welcomed..

I was looking at these and wondered the same thing. As it turns out, only the honey blonde finished model has an Ash body, all the other are Alder.

Personally I prefer the mex standard over the nashville. Mostly the electronics, my ears don't agree with the tex mex, if you like them then awesome. But if you wanna save a buck or two, buy the standard, and just rout a spot for a middle strat pup, you can get a new pickguard from www.warmoth.com but if you already really like the nashville, go for it! Good luck!

It's been quite common for Fender to assign combinations of body wood with colors. Typically the transparent colors have been more likely to come on ash bodies.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
