I tried to support my local music shop this weekend and pick me up an American Standard Tele. They didn't have what I wanted and if I'm spending 1200 or so on a guitar, they're going to give me exactly what I want. I tried the American Tele at the shop, and asked when they'd have my color, they said end of April. That's the wrong fuckin answer to me (Sorry, Army talk), so I called Guitar Center, who told me the same thing, so I went home, called Musician's Friend, and asked how fast they can get me a crimson transparent tele. They said 5-8 days, so I ponied up the money and it's on the way. I've never been so non-regretful about paying this kind of money. No remorse at all.

I feel like a kid on Christmas, but pics will come as soon as I get my guitar.

IMO, the transparent crimson red is the nicest looking finish on teles today. They should make that finish in all models. Hope you enjoy it!

Yeah, the local shop would have to get it shipped from the factory while GC could just ship it in from either their warehouse stock or from another location. Anyways, congratulations on your Tele, I hope it's fawking awesome. ^^

Thanks man! Guitar Center and the local place usually have great selection and availability. Both places told me they ordered months ago and haven't heard anything.

Congrats on the new axe. The wait is a little painful but thankfully it isn't being shipped via stagecoach. That certainly is a great color.

I was stationed on Sandia/Kirtland in the late 60's. AF but worked with the Army team too.

Haha no way! I'm a National Guardsman in Colorado but I work on Sandia.

I don't care how it gets shipped so far, but they said it'll be here tomorrow, which is 2 less business days than they told me. Band practice on Friday. I'll probably run and get a set up done before that though.

I'm unfortunately a POG. But I went airborne to try and make up for it.
