shoulda got ya a tele if you were gonna do that  . But yeah you can. If you want to do this you'll probably have to give up everything that makes an equire an esquire and get rid of the three way switching on the one pickup, solve a whole mess of wiring to get it right to make it a tele, heck just get a tele if you want two pickups man. You might like the esquire just the way it is anyway.

Basically sound advice--after all--if you change it, it's not really an Esquire anymore.

No problem, just surprised you asked because the single pickup design is what makes an esquire so awesome. What kind of tele do you have?

Esquires are a thing of beauty and...tone!

Now if you wanted to wire your Tele for a 4-way selector, then you could mod the Esquire...nah

All Fenders are well loved because they are like the Leggos of guitars.

You can change them out, add, ...name it..to fit your personal taste.

If you have one with a humbuckler, you may want to consider 'splitting' the pickup first.

If you change or add, you must first take off the cover plate/pickguard to see how it's hollowed out. That will tell you what configuation optins are available.

1. you need to get a new pickguard to match the pickup.
2. You will have to get a new tone pot and possible switch.
3. You will in the least have to re wire and find the right schamatic....which you can match up with other models made from the Squire site page.

Yeah, man a Fender is personal.....make it yours! thats the beauity of owning one.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smart move, it just wouldn't be an Esquire if you add the pickup. It will also be worth more some day.
