Hello!

I have a classic series 72 tele deluxe. With the travelling it does, need more protection than the gig bag that was supplied.

Will the "Fender multi-fit standard molded case" work with this?
http://www.fender.com/en-CA/products/se ... 0996101506

OR

Do I go with the classic "strat/tele multi-fit hardshell case
http://www.fender.com/en-CA/products/se ... 0996102406

BOTH item descriptions suggest will fit MOST tele models. Is my model the one that wont fit (different vol/tone/switch config and wider headstock?)?

Thanks for any/all replies!

What are you willing to spend? Either will fit your Tele Deluxe. I would go with the second you listed it would be closer to what the 72 Tele Deluxe originally would have come with back in the day.

Enjoy,

Any Fender standard case will fit it, thats what the strats and teles come with when they are supplied with cases. I agree that a good plywood case would just look cool as H3LL ! And would look more time-appropriate for your model tele!

I recently bought a Fender Western Tooled case on Ebay for $179. Beautiful case and very well lined with thick plush padding. Well worth the price and looks real nice. My Deluxe Tele fits perfect and its well protected. Its good for Strats too.

Those cases should work for airlines too. One suggestion when flying/going air, is to put some duct tape/100mph tape around the hindges and buckles after the TASSA inspection. This will help avoid the case getting hung up on other luggage an make it more friendly to the handlers so they don't get frustrated.
