idea as a second guitar? ... I love Bruce springsteen and other Claptons. And i know they use mostly telecaster. I bought the strat because the dealer told me it was the best idea to buy as a first guitar the polyvalent strat. Think i will feel the difference playing a tele?

Thanks for ur feedback good people.

I,ve owned a Tele for years. I recently bought a Strat, but keep going back to my Tele. My jamming buddy plays Strats, he bought a Tele but keeps going back to Strats. It's personal preference. If you have the cash, it's good to have both. You will develope preferences over time and either become a Tele player or a Strat player. Generally you will go back to your first. By the way...Clapton plays Strats. Ed

A similar question to mine, I guess. I'd owned a black Les Paul Studio for years, but added an Olympic White USA Strat last year after finally quitting smoking. I'm now looking at adding a Telecaster, perhaps the Joe Strummer model, but whichever Telecaster you choose the feel and sound will certainly be different, whatever amplifier/effects you own. I'm trying to cover the full spectrum of sounds !!

I've always thought Strat for lead, Tele for rhythm...

Not so!

Anything can be played on a Tele.

Anything.

I bought strat first, then tele. the tele is definitely a worthy second guitar, and for more than just rhythm. Both are Am Dlx with maple so the feel is very similar. I still play the strat more, but sometimes only a tele will do.

I had a squire tele that I got from a pawn shop for like 100 dollars years ago when I first started playing guitar (when I went from bass to guitar) and didn't really like it, so I sold it and bought an American Standard Strat and loved it, but now I'm missing that TONE that you can only get from a Tele, and I'm searching everywhere trying to find one with a B-bender

The neck on the strat seems slimmer to me, and the tele neck seems more rounded, but that could just be the models, and not the body-style difference.

Play a tele, play a strat, see which feels better to you, which sounds better to you, and which the opposite sex thinks looks sexier up against you.

A tele should never ever be considered a second guitar. I have both and the yare equal partners. of course i prefer the tele. but like i said i prefer the tele!!

Good idea to buy a Tele. They do feel and sound different than a Strat. There is no doubt about which is which. Both different and both are great.
