Hi,
I have just joined the forum. And have a question
Just bought 1984_ 1987 $@! E series squier telecaster in blonde with maple neck for £150. Was this a good price and is there any way to find out exact age without taking the neck off? It has the serial no on the headstock ?
Many thanks Dom. :D

Is that about 250.00 American? Seems like a good deal...if it is truly an E series. I think you would either have to take the neck off, or look at the pots(remember, necks can be changed).

Thanks for the reply. It has fender japan stamped tuners. toploader bridge. And the feel and sound is awsome. If it is fake someone has gone to a lot of trouble !
Cheers Dom

I have owned alot of guitars including Les Pauls, and I came back to the Strat as I feel it is one of the most versatile and great sounding guitars out there, and most comfortable to play. You can play any kind of music with a Strat. I'm sure the guitar is genuine, now play the heck out it! (E-series made 84-87)

Dom. I have one of these as well, bought for £120 in 1990. It's a terrific guitar, the neck is just amazing. It had been owned by a gigging musician as the body has a few battle scars but nothing too serious. Exactly as you describe with the tuners and the bridge. I assume yours has a gold Squier logo with 'by Fender' in black just to the right of the serial number. Mine has a E7 serial number and was made (if I remember right, I had the neck off years ago) in 1985.

Hi, thanks for the reply, yes logo's as you descibed, someone else said 1987,so will have to take neck off, when I have to.No rush.
I don't think 1st number after the E means the year, have read there was no real order with serial no's, Yes the neck is to die for.and will be playing the Hell out of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers Dom.
