i just recently finished my first tele project custom made from a 58 broadcaster template.
After the wiring was finished I noticed that the volume knob control is is backwards. In other words when I roll the knob clockwise it rolls the volume off , when I roll the knob counter clock it turns the volume up. I have tripled checked my wiring schematic as well.
In the neck position I have a single coil alnico pickup, the bridge position humbucker
Both pots are 250k with .047Tone caps.
Comments and advise welcome
Thanks

They do make "reverse" pots. Sounds like what you have. You didn't state if your guitar was right or left handed. But seriously, they do make regular and reverse pots.

So have you swapped the wiring to see if it works as you want?

Do you have any pictures of the wiring? Are you using vintage or modern wiring application? Have you solved the problem yet?

That is link to the schm. I used. I assume it's modern wiring

I play left hand guitar

I haven't swapped wiring. Still confused. Tone pot works right.

But that pic is a right hand guitar???

In any case, you do need to change the wiring if you want full volume at fully CCW (counter clock wise). You also need a lefty pot (i.e. with a reverse log taper).

Yes that is right, "right hand"
Ok I found my problem. It was the operator/builder fault. I had the wire going to wrong terminal of the pot. I rewired, its fixed. Yahoo !
See I don't know much about playing or building one wiring. Learning as I go along.

That's what I mentioned on Friday.

Glad you fixed it.
Have fun!

When seeing the original post I could have guessed you used a Seymour Duncan diagram without reading further. SD seems to draw their diagrams as if looking from the FRONT of the guitar. This means if you look at the pots from BEHIND to wire them, as you would with a Fender or about any other company's diagram, then all the controls will wind up backwards. This very same thing happened to me the first time I used an SD diagram. Then I figured out what had happened by comparing the SD diagram to Fender ones. I suspect that is how they get around copyright infringement on original manufacturer diagrams.
