Simplicity. Though my version is slightly more complicated (72 thinline RI), the reason I started lookin at teles in the first place was they are simple. I was tired of my previous guitar going out of tune. Teles are solid and sound good clean and dirty.

Though I had no idea how many versions were available. Its like owning a car... you never realize how many variations are out there till you are driving one.

I love the sound and the design/shape of the guitar.
Its the ultimate guitar, if one cant play a tele, they cannot play at all

I like the sound, feel and looks of the basic Telecasters.

The '72 Thinlines with the wide range pups are also great, in my opinion.

Well For one, the sound and feel, the shape, just a great guitar all around. Hats Off to Fender!

I'm loving mine! The sound is exactly what I want a guitar to sound like. Makes even my awful playing sound sweet. The tele style, The fat pups, the cool pickguard, the f-hole semi hollow body....its got everything I was lookin and listening for.

I get it back from the shop today (some faulty wiring on the lower pickup). I cant wait.

I've read that the original 72 has different sounding pickups, as does the japanese RI...I'm curious as to how different they sound.

The look, sound and feel, but most of all, the neck humbucker, single coil bridge pickup combo that is not really offered on any other guitar, Fender or other brands...

I'm looking to get a Tele mainly due to the sound you can get out of them. You can't beat it.

I like the look, they are just nice looking guitars. I also like the idea of the simpicity of the two pickups. You can get a ton of different sounds, but that is more the ability of your fingers. clean, dirty, blues, jazz, country, rock...it will play them all.

I likum cuz they just work. Perfect for sitting down. NIce classic distortion sound (really depends on pups) and they look like a friendly face, an old friend that's been with you for a long long time. They're also real simple and easy to figure out. (mine isn't though lol, nash power tele, so it's got 5 way switching, a fishman bridge, and stacked knob, looks like a monster, totally sick man!) But anyway, they also kinda step into the whole, Jeep, sweet tea, dixie flag scene. Lovum.

I like the balance (it sits in the shoulder strap in a perfect playing position for me) and the simplicity of one volume/one tone control. Also, if you haven't tried the 52 style, thicker neck give it a go - that's my favorite part but it only comes on the 52 replica (I think.)

For me, it's the beautiful simplicity which creates the hot syrup tone. The classic shape of a true American piece of art, that just happens to be a telecaster. 8)
