Hooch from Paisley's band told me he still had several Fenders, but Joe @ Reverend seems to have him as an endorsee as well :

Don't forget, he did many of the GC King of the Blues backing tracks too.

Interesting PPS :

"I just got the guitar back from Pete's guitar tech. So here's the skinny. The guitar was bought in 1988/1989 from Ray Henning's Heart of Texas. Pete was told that the former owner was Eric Johnson. The guitar was refinned by Pat Wilkins in Los Angeles over 20 years ago. The neck, body, knobs and control plate are all original. The following items have been replaced - The neck pickup was added a few years ago. It's a newer Seymour Duncan pickup. The Bridge pickup is also believed to be a Seymour Duncan, wired by Seymour himself. The pots were switched out to CTS pots. The replacement bridge is a Schaller 6 saddle style bridge and the neck was re-fretted with Dunlop 6105 Tall/Skinny Frets.

PLEASE NOTE, all this work was done over 20 years ago. This was one of Pete's main guitars with Dwight Yoakam. The Esquire was used on many tours and has been played on at least 4 of Yoakam's early 90's recordings. This guitar is an important part of Country Music history."

that esquire has been butchered so bad its not even really an esquire any more, and over priced.

he needs to kick his tech's azz's then. its still way over priced.
with everything replaced, its hardly worth anything.

With all the upgrades, refinished and every thing thats been done to it, it hardly be called "vintage" as it's listed in the description. Considering who owned it and where it's been, yes it is a part of country music history. Regardless what it says on the headstock, with the front pickup, wouldn't this be considered a Telecaster? I think a more realistic price would be in the $4,000-$6,000 range. It's still cool regardless what it sells for or what you want to call it.

I'm surprised that it's still listed at that price.
