T2Stratman and Miami Mike beat me to the punch with regard to Booker T. and the M.G.'s Steve Cropper.Steve's Tele work along with Duck Dunn's pounding bass really provided a great backdrop for Booker T's. inimitatable keyboard work.

As much as I love anything Buchanan ever did, I have to pick the classic studio original version of the solo in "Stairway to Heaven."

For years and years 99% of guitarists (including me) thought it must have been played using a Les Paul if only because Page was so well-known by then for using one. Most of us thought much of the first two Led Zep LPs were Les Paul, too. How wrong we were.

He got the greatest thick rock sounds out of his Teles. Just goes to show how versatile these guitars are.

I'm going to limit my choices here to recognizable tunes that most people would know, not just us guitar player types. I assume that was the OP's intent, anyway.

Eagles' Peaceful Easy Feeling

Eagles's Take it Easy

Led Zep's Stairway to Heaven

Beatles' Two of Us (Not as solo, but tasty guitar work by George.)

Most anything Steve Cropper plays on.

The following are some TV themes. Not solos really, but significant Tele work.

Bonanza

The Munsters

Green Acres

Peter Gunn

One more I forgot to add. I'm not positive this is a Tele but it sure sounds like one to me. The solo in the Blues Image' Ride Captain Ride was always a favorite of mine.

Pete Townshend's pounding hammer on lead break on I Can See For Miles was done on a Tele.

Prince, massively underrated musician. Still possibly one of my favourites from my 80's youth.

I watched The Good, Bad, and the Ugly the other day. I'm convinced that the guitarist in the score by Ennio Morricone used a Telecaster. Any thoughts on this?

It very well could be. He joined Springsteen and played a Tele when I saw
the show in 2008.

My personal favourite tele player isn't really known for his solo's or being a technically skilled guitarist, but rather for being a musical genius. Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood is my favourite tele player, and you can hear his riffs and genius in every Radiohead song.

It's because of Jonny that I got into teles over most other guitars, and for that (as well as making amazing music) I thank him

Totally agree...love Radiohead / J.G.
One of the reasons I bought a tele over a strat ;)

Can't say it's my absolute favorite, there are many, but I liked Pete Townsend's solo on "Eminence Front".
