Hey guys, I am in the market to buy a new Telecaster Deluxe, and I think I have narrowed down my search to two different models. I have posted links below.

Classic Series '72 Telecaster Deluxe

Classic Player Telecaster Deluxe with Tremolo
http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-Classic-Player-Telecaster-Deluxe-Electric-Guitar-With-Tremolo-?sku=620811

I have a couple questions about these two guitars, but first some background. I have a Classic Player 50s Strat (Link here: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-Classic-Player-50s-Stratocaster-Electric-Guitar?sku=512766) and I love the build quality, the hardware, everything about it.

So, to organize things,

Classic Series Tele Deluxe:
Pros: String-through body means better sustain?
Cons: Does "Classic Series" mean lower build quality than "Classic Player"?

Classic Player Tele Deluxe with Tremolo:
Pros: Tremolo, Classic Player quality that I already know I love
Cons: Does the Strat trem mean less sustain? I already have a strat, do I need another whammy bar and strat trem in my lineup? Will the lack of the string-through body make it lose its tele tone?

I'm looking for a guitar with the same high build quality as my Classic Player Strat, so that leads me towards the Tele Deluxe with the Tremolo, but I wonder if the Strat Trem would affect the sustain and tone much, as it is not string-through. Part of me wants the Classic Series Tele Deluxe, as I like the idea of the string-through body, and already have a strat, so a whammy bar is not a necessity. But then I can't decide because I don't know the difference in quality between Classic Series and Classic Player.

Questions:
1. Is there a difference between "Classic Series" and "Classic Player"? If so, what?
2. How does the hardware differ between the two guitars? (In terms of like tuners and such. I understand that they're completely different bridges. [I love the vintage-style tuners and hardware on my Classic Player Strat.])
3. Mostly, I want to hear everyone's thoughts on the string-through body. Is it necessary for the tele tone? (I bet.) Would the Strat Bridge affect the sustain and tone too much?

Let me know what you guys think, and as always, thanks for your advice.

PS- If it's of any help, my rig is currently the Classic Player 50s Strat plugged into a '65 Fender Super Reverb Reissue (about a year old) with only a few Boss pedals (TU-3 tuner, DS-1 Distortion and SD-1 Super Overdrive) and a Vox V845 Wah. I play mainly blues, classic rock, and modern alternative.

I'm afraid I can't answer any of your comparison questions. However, as the owner of a 2006 model '72 Classic Series Telecaster Deluxe (without the trem), I can tell you that this guitar does NOT give you the classic "Tele tone." This is a dual-humbucker guitar with a very fat sound. I always refer to mine as my "Fender Les Paul."

I have no complaints about the build quality of the instrument. In fact, it's my favorite guitar. Good luck! 8)

I have a deluxe with a tremolo. cant say for the classic series, but it is a great guitar, very versatile. no complaints, I would reccomend it. I think there is very little difference between the two-I was a bit confused too when I bought mine.
