Hi all. Started learning guitar and would like to get an electric to go along with my Seagull. Local store recommended a 72 custom reissue to have a hb at the neck. I'm not too big fan of all 2 color choices but came across the Special Edition Customs with the push/pull coil tap online. Is this a good option? Anyone played both? Of course no one local has the SE for me to play. Another guiitar I'd spend time looking for if highly recommended is a used Fat Tele from I believe 98-03. Any opinions out there? :)

I got a fat strat for the versitility. I would say go for it :)

Thinking about putting a SD phat cat in the neck of my tele sometime in the near future (not a humbucker really, but a humbucker-sized P90)

I think you will get many different opinions. I would suggest a standard
Telecaster to start on. Two controls & one selector switch, but lots of
mojo and tone!

I've been hearing some good things about the classic vibe squires too, pretty darn affordable. Also the blacktop series tele would be good, the humbuckers have a pretty cool fat tone and a thinner one if you need it for less cash then a new mim standard.

The Vintage Hot Rod '52 Telecaster is now available with a full-size chrome-covered humbucker, though the product page shows the older versions with the Mini-bucker pickup.
