Hi all!
Recently I changed the volume pot (CTS 250k Audio) of my Tele because after cleaned it I couldn't avoid the scratchy noise in it. After the substitution the problem remains the same: On 10 all works fine but when I turn volume to 9, 8 or 7 makes a very loud and permanet scratchy noise. Then I comproved all conections and were fine (http://support.fender.com/service_diagr ... A_SISD.pdf) After that I pulled off all capacitors and resistor and check the diagram, but the noise was still there. I don't know what more I could do! Please someone could help me with this problem?
Thanks in advance
Cheers

Try returning the just bought replacements and see if another
set gives you the fix. If they've been sitting and where they've
been sitting, might be a key.

De-oxit is good for cleaning scratchy pots on occasion.

Any chance that your amp is the culprit rather than the Tele?

Hi, thanks guys!
I've tried in differents amps with the same results. I've cleaned the 3 way switch too. And the noise can be heard in any pickup combination. :? I'm disconcerted.
Buy another pot could be a good and cheap idea. (But first I should find a new Fender shop near Barcelona because I've paid 10 Euro for it  )

Yes is very strange

1- Your original put is noisy and you can't cleasn it !
2- You buy a another one and it do the same noise !!!!

Questions : You buy a new pot or used one ?
You clean it with good cleaner ? ( some don't work you know)
Is your guitar electronica had be modified before :new pickup , switch, capacitor ?

I suspect a bad solder on pickups or switch IF everything else are good.

Can you send us a picture of your electronic , under the metal plate ?

Return the pot as defective and try a new one. Very strange indeed. :!:
