There is a YouTube video out there highlighting the new 60th Anniversary Tele's and in it the guy from Fender mentions that they are putting a vintage 3 piece bridge on one model that actually allows for individual intonation! There is some way the separate the brass components. I'm sure we will learn more when the new models come out. Sorry - can't find the link again.

The picture of the 60th annivesary model they show in the Telecaster section. It appears to have a modern bridge with six bridge pieces.

Now I can see why JD's method works for E&A shape barres. He's slightly flattening the 3rd on a E shape barre and the 8va root on the A shape. Also the 5th on a D shape. 3rds and 5ths are not correct in modern music anyway. Slightly flattening them does work well but still doesn't correct the problem.

Still I gave my word, I'll give it a shot.
Thanks ABS

Anytime Nik, if you need help might be a good reason for me to fly across the pond and afterwards go for a few pints at the pub!!!

I cut my own compensated shelf nut to allieviate such problems.

In truth I found compensated saddles to not be 'enough' to sort the problem out.

The far better option would be to have a 6 saddle bridge. However I just cannot bring myself to lose the vintage bridge off my tele. How I wish for a vintage style 6 saddle bridge with six individual brass saddles.

Is it too much to ask for? A real mix of old and new.

YOU ASK NIKININJA... AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE!!!

Go to Guitararcheology and check out the NOS 82 Telecaster Bridge for $75.00.

Myself, I've always loved the 83-84 Fender/Schaller Telecaster Bridge with Elite saddles that sells at Guitararcheology for $80.00.

Nikininja, one of these two bridges, probably the 82 Fender, has to make your day!
Now all that you have to do is replace your nut...
Cheers

I'll bet that Fender is again issuing a bridge similar to the 83-84 Fender / Schaller Tel bridge in the previous picture. It will be on one of the many new models for 2011. If so there should be some around for purchase and we can keep the fine brass look.

Cambo, I think you mean the '82 Fender Bridge above, posted by Torn&Frayed, which has the 6 brass bar design.
But you are right about Fender issuing a new vintage style brass bar bridge design that allows for the intonation to be completely adjustable. It's on the Limited Edition "Telebration" 60th Anniversary Vintage Hot Rod '52 Reissue Telecaster. Only 500 of these guitars will be issued this year and can be pre-ordered now.
Here are some pictures:

Since this bridge will probably be produced on a continuing basis on a Hot Rod '52 Reissue next year, I would not expect this bridge to be separately available from Fender before 2013 or 2014, although it might show up on Ebay before then.

MickJagger,

Thanks for the confirmation! Unfortunately I'm not ready to put down the $ for the new model, but I'll bet that some enterprising company will come up with a similar design (copy) shortly after this is introduced. I will certainly keep my eyes open.

That is a lovely guitar and what appears to be a great functional yet "vintage" looking bridge.
