That clip of Albert Lee from about 0:40 on just amazes me. I guess those guys are
a dying breed?

Well...not sure exactly the criteria of (play like this). Or age for that matter, but being 26 I figure I still at least kinda qualified. I am nowhere near the level of and Albert Lee, but I do try and keep the old school spirit of playing the guitar alive.
Here's a little improv I recorded while trying to dial in a nice bluesy tone:

Also if that doesn't scare you away, I have a few original tunes up on MySpace that I'm happy with my guitar playing. I'll apologize in advance for my voice. :?

Yeah, that's a bit of a different style...closest I get to that is some old bluegrass and southern gospel jams like Mountain Dew or I'll fly away. That kid definitely has some skill, and I don't hear many young players playing much of the chicken pickin these days. There is a kid I saw on YouTube that was about 14 that was pretty good at that style.

This guy is very very good. Bright future indeed. Only issue I see is the use of "Smoking" in front of his name as the true "Smoking Joe" is Bonamassa. 8)

+1...But maybe JB has gone past smokin' and is now on fire? 8)

This Joe Robinson kid is very talented, and I look forward to seeing more from him.

I've seen Bonamassa several times from when he was a teenager to current and I prefer his older tone rather than his current high treble tone.

Joe Robinson, who gained fame from winning a talent show, seems to have good tone on all of the clips I've seen so far.

Yeah he ain't bad for a lad from Leominster (pronounced Lemster).
In all seriousness. He's one of the most down to earth guitarheroes out there.
If anyone want's to go round his house and threaten to egg the windows unless he comes out displaying some mad skills, I'm in.

Albert Lee, even at age 67 now, has probably forgotten what many will never learn. :?:

The other big suprise for me was Alvin Lee. He lives right by me. I think it's time to dig my big overcoat out and resume my stalking career!

I thought both of em were American guys.
