Your guit need an intonation adjustment, You know, saddles need to be move front or back.

And your nut could need to be file , the sting guide need probably to be " file down".

But first the intonation, go to see a good luthier, or the store where you buy it should sell you a well intonate guit.

I have experienced this. Guitars with larger or taller frets are easily pulled out of tune by putting too much pressure on the string with the fretting hand. Try not pressing as hard when fretting the G on the low E string......see if that helps. If it does, there is nothing really wrong with your axe, just a matter of getting used to the quirks of this guitar. Otherwise, a really high nut of the intonation is the issue. try easing up on your grip there, Superman!

Steve, with a good intonation and nut set up, any fret size will play in tune. I write GOOD intonation because a lot of people can't do a professional job and you could have the problem you talk about .

Almost all guitar are not properly set when new.

Edward Van Halen tunes his guitars 1/4 step flat to compensate for the tall fret pull to sharp issue.

you might give this a try.

Hi superkid as my friend from La Belle province stated it seems very much like an intonation problem. Most guitar shops only charge about $50 to set up the intonation and it is well worth it if you aren't comfortable about doing it yourself.BTW old strings can also cause intonation problems.

Super kid,

I also have just purchased a new MIM Tele, Baja classic, which has a similar tuning problem. First try changing the strings. My Tele comes strung with .010 at high E. Bad or old strings are a major cause of tuning problems.
If that doesn't do it, have the intonation corrected as mentioned.
I am going to try and do it myself anyway. If you don't already own one, the Fender Telecaster Handbook has great instructions for setting intonation. As a new "young gun" with a long time to play you should probably educate yourself and the price of the book is far less than a one time intonation set up. If you screw it up, then have a pro do it.

Enjoy

Def. sounds like intonation to me...There are many good videos on youtube that detail the procedure, and it requires nothing more than a philips screwdriver.

Here's the video that I learned from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZVRCMJLnm4
