Hi...this is my first post- great to be here....I bought a used but mint chocolate brown George Harrison "Let it Be" tele in the mid '80's from a private sale in Winnipeg when I was a lot younger...still have it and play it often. I know that some of these models are more valuable than others....maybe someone on here can let me know what the value of mine is.
There's a serial number on the front of the guitar under the strings that has an "85" in it followed by two other numbers....is this from 1985? Would appreciate if anyone knows...thanks! Will post a photo soon! Thanks!

Well....from the pictures you posted I can say it is a ..........????

The serial number in full MIGHT help, but we really need to see mutable pictures if this to get an Idea, the "85" thing make no since, It most likely is a patten number you are seeing.
Please post up some pictures from many angles, front and back and let see what we can do to help.

The guitar is a Rosewood Telecaster. George Harrison used it regularly after the Beatles disbanded in the early 1970s.

Image

George used a "Roy Buchanan Bluesmaster" Telecaster during his Japanese tour with Eric Clapton in 1991.

I recalled an interview from both artists at Bray Studios, where Harrison shows off his "Roy Buchanan Bluesmaster" Telecaster and ol' Slow Hand his "smoker's model" guitar, as mentioned in the 1999 Christie's Auction Catalogue.

According to the book Beatles Gear, (Andy Babiuk, Backbeat Books, 2002) in 1968, Phillip Kubicki, a young, talented guitar maker, was told by his boss, Roger Rossmeisl, that Fender would be making the guitars. Recalls Kubicki: "For me, this was about as exciting as things could get. The Beatles and Hendrix were at their peak and were a big part of the times." According to the book, "Rossmeisl decided that a safe course would be to produce two prototypes each of the Rosewood Telecaster and the Rosewood Stratocaster and then select the best to give to the star musicians. The bodies for the guitars were made with a thin layer of maple sandwiched between a solid rosewood top and back. "I spent hours sanding the bodies to perfection," recalls a misty eyed Kubicki. "Eventually, a clear polyurethane finish was applied and allowed to dry, and we selected the two best bodies and necks for Harrison and Hendrix." Kubicki says that Harrison's telecaster became a priority because Fender knew it was required for an album that The Beatles were working on. The guitar was carefully and painstakingly finished, set up, checked and carefully rubbed with a fine cloth until it became highlighted. The second body and neck were stored in Fender's R & D department.

Everytime I see one of those I want one more and more! I love the Rosewoods. When is Fender going to do a special run of these again? Beautiful giuitar!

Awesome guitar. Hope someone can help determine the origin.
The numbers you show on the bridge (85 etc.) are just the patent number assigned to the bridge design and not directly related to the guitar itself.

If that little beauty is the U.S. made model('69-'72) she would be worth $15,000-$20,000 but if she is Japanese made('86-'96)she would be worth $1,400-$1,700.Either way you have a beautiful guitar but I couldn't see anything on it to identify the country it was made in except for the patent No. which is of course U.S. but may well have been put on an MIJ guitar as well.
