Many have started out on Telecasters, but then changed axes later on, but Vince Gill has always stuck with his trusty old '53 Tele.

Steve Cropper
Albert Lee
etc... were all playing Teles but eventually changed to others.

Can't go wrong with a Tele, it can handle pretty much anything.

I wish I could have either Vince's talent, or his '53 Tele!

I know this is off topic but I couldn't help but laugh at your signature. I hadn't heard that expression for 20 years! Brings back memories!

Great player.

Yeah, since his marriage to Amy, he stays 'under the radar' a lot, but he lets it rip when he does the big shows like 'Crossroads' or ACL.

In the '60s, 70's it was an expression which meant: it started, let's go, better go than wait.
Now it's a little outdated for young people. kiki meant also throat. "S'en jeter un dans le kiki" means to have a drink "Serrer le kiki" means to strangle

Bonjour Alain !

Since I'm a bit older and was a teenager in the late 60's early 70's, I recall hearing it every so often, from my grandmother more often than not, she was quite a character.
Anyway it is just a funny phrase which needed a resurrection, albeit my aim was to strike a chord (no puns intended  ) with the more seasoned  forum members.

On another note, Thank You for " The Guitar Motel " site, amazing collections there.
I'm in the process of completely refinishing/rebuilding one of my three project strats and a paint theme of either Tintin et Milou or Asterix et Obelisk, or perhaps even Marsupilami from Spirou as well as Gaston Lagaffe, Modeste et Ponpon.

Don't worry, I saw it, I was just waiting for an opportunity to talk about it. :D

As I look out my kitchen window at my lovely snow filled driveway beckoning me to " Come out Come out, I need a shoveling of snow ", my thoughts are wishing that I was on the Cote D'azur in either Monaco or La Turbie. ( it is going to be a long winter in the Northeast corner of Connecticut.. )

He may have, but he also helped out all of the others that lost
precious instruments :
