Ok everyone so I am getting a new guitar as a christmas/birthday present and I have it narrowed down to two telecaster models.

The '72 deluxe reissue and the custom FMT HH.

After reading nothing but great reviews on both I can't decide and I need some help from you all. Does anyone here have either of these models or both of them? If so how do you like them? How do they sound play etc. The type of music I will be playing is really some classic rock, hard rock, some modern rock, a bit of jazz, and a little country if I can get the tones out of either model (I'm ok with not at this point)

Any help or insight you all can give me is greatly appreciated :)

Thanks

Well... If i was you, i would rather get the custom FMT HH. It looks nice in red sunburst, and by listening to it through YouTube, it sounds great. But then again, it's your choise. Although, if i was you, i wouldn't buy either. A classical Fender Telecaster with normal S-pickups is better, but take the FMT HH... :)

Go to your local music store and play them both. See which one feels better and has the sound your looking for. Then make you decision.

Well The FMT HH does have that coil tap to go into single coil mode. Or I could even go with the '72 custom which has the single in the bridge position. Decisions decisions......

If it was me faced with a decision like that I'd get the '72 Reissue now and the HH somewhere down the road...a man can't have too many Teles or Fenders for that matter- ask Alain LaFrance.

I have the deluxe-I can say that it is very nice to play, the maple board is comfortable. The pickups are very versatile, from different combinations of pickups/tone/amp settings, a vibrant, almost single coil like tone can be produced, but a deep, rich, classic humbucker tone is available too. It is a great guitar for using in a band-rhythm and lead tones are there to be used. It is a great guitar, one that I have not regretted at all. I cannot say for the custom HH, for I have never played one.

Beautiful Tele and a great match for the red L.P.,I have close to the same type of combo with a Midnight Wine Tele and a Burgundy Les Paul-they also look sweet side by side.

Well try this out a Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Custom with Seymour Duncan Hot Rodded Humbucker Set. I put the JB in the bridge and the JM in the neck and it the best guitar I own.
