I have a new Blacktop Tele with the fender sealed tuners & am looking for a set of locking tuners. Any ideas what will fit?

Hi Greg Curtis,

You might try doing a forum search on "Locking Tuners" for a plethora of previous posts on this very subject, it has been discussed many times here. Use the search box at the top right on the forum page. I did a search and saw several posts on the subject. When you search, the results will be show up in two different tabs, one tab for "Products" and one tab for "Entire Site". Choose "Entire Site" tab for links to forum posts about the subject.

You just have to know the hole size in the headstock wood for the tuner holes, and get a tuner set that will fit your holes. That is, unless you are willing to drill the holes bigger, in which case you can put just about any tuners on that you want. There are just so many hole/tuner sizes, and with the Blacktop being so new, I don't know what the hole size they have. You can remove one of your tuners and measure the hole size from the back of the headstock, it should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 mm, about 3/16 inch. 10 mm is just one size, there are others so measure as accurately as you can. Hope this helps. :)

Fender locking tuners will be a drop-in replacement for the Fender sealed tuners.

+1

They have to be Fender-Schallers though. Standard Schaller Lockers are different.

10mm is 0.3937" which is just over 3/8" = .375", 3/16" = .1875" or just under 5mm!
