I was going to get an American Standard but money issues have shot that idea down so I am seriously thinking about the Squier. Maybe one like yours or the thinline semi hollow. It would be my first Tele.

I put one on layaway for Christmas- and it blew me away how good it was. :D

Plus, since I didn't shell out an arm and a leg for it, I can experment and mess around with it. I'll probably end up taking it to college next year instead of my Am. Standard Strat.

Its also my first tele as well...

I also found mine to be quite a heavy chunk of wood myself. But my strat is also like this, and I don't have a problem with it.

I bought the Classic Vibe Custom and it has the most unique and interesting sound of ANY guitar that I have played in a long time. The amount of sustain was shocking and the pickups are really on a level that I never thought that Squier could deliver.

I played it next to a bunch of Mexican Tele's and this guitar was head and shoulders above anything from Mexico. Once I changed the strings and set it up with some good low action, I can easily say that this guitar it as much fun to play as anything that I have tried recently. It stays in tune really well and I will have no problem playing this guitar anywhere through any good quality amp.

My only complaint was the amount of glossy finish on the neck. I personally prefer satin and will sand the gloss off of the neck. I raised the bridge pickup and love the spanky sustaining sound that it delivers.

If they offered this guitar with a nitro finish and satin neck, I would say that it is perfect. I have yet to hear anyone who has played my guitar or any CV Custom tell me that they didn't appreciate it.

All I am saying is, try this guitar.

That double bound body and that three-tone sunburst is just a great looking guitar. And it plays with that 60's vintage sound and style. This is a bit of a hefty Telecaster. But it sits very well balanced and comfortable with the help of a 3 inch strap.Vintage tuners and the three threaded steel barrel saddles round out this guitar for a decent price. Alot of people could never get near a double bound beauty that plays as well as this. And I sure am one of them.
But better than a MIA FENDER...I'm definitely sure Squier can't do anybetter than to come close. And with this guitar they have done a fine job.But every guitar is "each it's own" out of the box as we all well know.
I am glad to own one and receive many nice complements from my guitar friends.

Here's mine. This thread needs a photo.... Image

I think It would be cool to put a SD Phat Cat P-90 in the neck position. Any comments on this? :?:

Probably get burnt at the stake for heresy, but a lot of stuff coming from overseas is very well done. With the CNC machines and uber-cheap labor they're building very well.

Electronics still are lacking though.

American manufacturers had better pay close attention to this.

After buying mine, I have played the Classic Vibe Series at Guitar Center, and love them all. I plan to sell some gear to buy a Classic Vibe 60's Strat.

These guitars are seriously amazing. What I think it tells me is that there is a new way of manufacturing the asian guitars. Certainly these are higher quality components than Squier has ever used, bu the frets are perfectly installed with no sharp edges.

Right now, I can't find a reason to by a MIM guitar over these unless they have a specific feature that you need.

I just picked one of these up for $300...well technically it was a gift, but I suggested it. My second new guitar in 2 weeks...sweet!

This guitar is fantastic and I couldn't be happier. A great complement to my HWY 1 strat xmas gift.

I would recommend this instrument to anyone.
