Hi, I picked up a second hand 1993 Am Std tele a few years ago, and it had a little blister under the finish on the back of the neck, at the top of the skunk stripe. Over the past couple of years, the blister has boken open and grown, its now 3 " long and the finish is flaking off the back of the neck. Any idea how I can fix this?

Clean the exposed wood with a little naptha ( lighter fluid ) . Let it dry good, and then brush on some clear finger nail polish in enough coats to build level with the surrounding finish. Sand and polish to make it level with the finish. You could use clear enamel, lacquer or any number of substances, even super glue! almost anything will work as long as you lightly sand the built up product level with the surrounding finish. But do something, because the expansion and contraction from temperature and humidity, AND sweat will continue to make this worse until you fix it!
