So for Christmas I'm getting a Squier CV 60's Custom Tele, and even though I do like how it is now, I think it would be fun to really get to know the knitty-gritty of the guitar by doing some work on it. I'm also planning on doing it with my youth minister this summer, since I think it would be some good quality time before I go off to college next fall. Anyways this is what I have in mind:
(I'm up for any tips or suggestions, I got all the time in the world before I make any final decisions)

-Fender Noiseless pickups (I heard great things about them, and I still want to keep it sounding like a tele)
-6-piece saddle for better intonation (or should I just go with a better 3-piece? Are the Graphtech saddle pieces any good or do they rob tone?)
-Graphtech TUSQ Nut
-Possibly changing the 3-way switch to a 4-way (especially with the noiseless pickups)

I'm all ears, but just know that money could be an issue...

No Mike, you sound great! 8) That version of "You are So Beautiful" was pretty amazing, and I kinda wish I had those chops. (I've only been playing for two and a half years so I got a while to go) Someday....

Those pickups sound pretty awesome though and they are pretty reasonably price. Did you have to change any of the pots or anything else to put them in?

Thanks jimbo, much appreciated!!!

I haven't done anything to it...yet. It came as is with the 3 pickguards and the Keystones.

Every Tele I see has a blackguard lately, so I'm leaning towards the tortoise shell or white. The 'mother-of-toilet seat' aka 'perloid' is out.

I think I like the tortoise shell, and it does seem like a lot of teles that color come with the black... :? There was one sitting at the music store I got my tele from.
And I didn't realize that the Wild Bill's keystone pickups were about 75 for the set either  that's a awesome price for a broke high school student.

Here's a question thats been bothering me lately: I'm pretty good for only playing 2.5ish years, doing lead for praiseband and stuff, but I been in a couple of bands and they have been nothing but drama. I been thinking about staying away from bands in colleges until I get a whole lot better and more experienced (I'll still play, but just on my own-I'll probably just start recording my own stuff) Do you think this is a good idea?

I have heard perloid called this before. Is there no love for those pickguards? I have one on my Tele and couldn't imagine anything else!

I can't wait to get this tele 8) I've always been a strat guy, but I would love to break out a little and explore new tonal dimensions.

I think I like black pickguards when they are on a black guitar with a maple fretboard. It looks almost raunchy...

Feel free to jump in! I didn't really post this topic for any important reason, just for conversation starters. :D
