Hi.

Anyone know what an FSR Telecaster is? There's one in my local shop. It has a standard Tele layout with S1 switching but has binding around the front of the body and a Strat style hip contour. It's American Deluxe kind of money and is in blonde with a black pickguard and a maple neck. It's a very cool guitar indeed.

Regards

Marge

Aha! A potential investment then. Might try to scrape the money together.

Thanks

indeed, I'd love one, but couldn't afford it as I can't even afford an old VW right now, good luck on that. :)

Neither can i really, but the real question is whether a modern guitar will go up in price as vintage guitars have done. Any comments and opinions would be interesting here. The thing that got me thinking about this was a pension statement i got sent back in November. This fund, which was started by a company i worked for in the 90s, had an approximate value of £1700. When i retire in about 30 years time, it may be worth about £6000, assuming i don't pay anything into it. That, to me is a pretty poor return, but then i don't know a great deal about pensions and investments. If i could spend that £1700 on a 30 year old Strat or Tele, by the time i retire it'll be 60 years old, and everyone knows how much the vintage guitar market is now worth. But will it carry on growing? Are the original 50s Fenders worth that much because they were that good, or is it a trend that will continue?

Regards

Marge
