The S1 is a push button on the volume control. On the wiring I think the seller was alluring to it takes the neck pickup out of phase with the bridge pickup.

I think DUB-T-123 has hit the nail on the head with the 5th fret harmonic problem. That harmonic resides directly under the neck pickup. Much the same as it does a LP. Note also that both guitars have a similar lack of definition to the sound of that pickup.

I knew there was a reason Strats are better.

I am really liking this guitar!!!!!

I'm tweaking it slowly to my needs. I need to get a .050 hex head for the bridge saddles. And I need to put on my new strings. I've been sick this last week and haven't had time.

But I like the sounds out of my amp, not love, but like and think with some tweaking I will REALLY like the sounds. I'll see what the new strings do.

I have to admit, at first, I was a little worried. I had been used to playing lighter guitars, (acoustic and "starcaster") and this one is heavier. And the blocky feeling was a little offputting at first. The starcaster or strat has that curve where your right arm goes and that's kind of nice. But last night, I was playing it a bunch and I fell back into my old comfortability with it. It fits exactly how it used to 15 years ago. And this one is better than the ones I had back then.

I AM EXCITED!!!!

It wasn't my first pick of colors, but I actually like the way it looks alot. I would like to customize it somehow. But not sure how yet. I was thinking of getting a different pickgaurd and painting something on it. Or painting something on the current one. Well, not me paint it, I'm not a good painter. But I have a flower that was painted on my acoustic by an ex girlfriend, and I'll be danged if that thing hasn't lasted real good on there. And I like it. Flowers, birds, something like that. I like God's creations. Especially birds for some reason. Cardinals.

I think that's a good looking Tele, but I think it might be haunted--I could swear I saw a man with glasses trapped in the finish of the guitar!

Doh! You caught me!! The guy I bought it from said he would shine it up with automotive polish. Is that a good idea? It made it slick and shiny, but I'm not sure I'm that anal about it. Plus, isn't there some kind of polish that is made for guitars? I guess even though this is an american guitar, the specs say it's finished in poly. Which I thought it was nitro, but not according to the specs.
