I am looking at either a standard mexi tele, or a 60's player. What I can't get over about the 60's player is the bridge. First off, I don't like the idea of not having intonation adjustment for each string. Secondly, I find it kind of uncomfy. But I have to retry it to make sure if I really don't like it.

Would it cost an arm and a leg to put a newer type saddle on?

I just really like the rosewood neck and vintage frets on the 60's. And I like the tuners better. But I have to say, I haven't played one yet, so I may be more in like with it in theory. But I've played other guitars that I prefer the vintage frets. And I know I will prefer rosewood. Not that I hate maple. I just prefer the other.

But that thing about the intonation kind of makes me scratch my head. Do you guys that own teles with vintage saddles seem to have intonation troubles, or not?

My Tele has the vintage saddles but no issues with intonation because I use Glendale brass "In-tone cutting edge" saddles. If you want to use vintage saddles AND stay perfectly intonated, then go with the Glendale saddles.

But it shouldn't cost too much to change out the saddles. Check ebay, you should be able to find a set of saddles from $19.99-$55.00 depending on what brand you want.

Is it a difficult swap, enough to mess it up and hurt something?

Thanks for the tip on the vintage saddles. What's so different about those? To me it's the whole design that doesn't make sense. One thing for two strings on angle. What if you need a different angle for the other?

I don't do my own repairs but I wouldnt think switching out to the individual saddles would be that tough. I am sure someone here could talk you though it or that you could find a how to somewhere on google.

So far as the Glendale saddles, they intonate properly because they line up perfectly and they way they are cut they ends line up straight unlike the vintage style saddles.
