Need some help from my friends in the Forum.....

I own a Telecaster TC 90.....I hope to be buying another Telecaster in the next 6 months to a year. I have played the Standard, the Nashville, and the 72 Thinline Reissue - all played through a Deluxe Reverb Reissue. Of all three I most certainly like the versatility and sound of the Nashville.

I would like to spend no more than 500USD, hopefully picking up something used. What would give me the biggest bang for the buck? (please take value, playability, components, etc. into consideration). ....Any opinions out there in Fenderland?

I have an MIM Tele that cost only $400 only slightly used and it's just a fabulous guitar, plays and sounds great and no tuning issues at all,it was a great buy and certainly better than a lot of guitars costing much more.

Beaubs -

Go for the Nashville Deluxe. There are 3 different Nashville versions; the Deluxe, which is prolly the one you played, the Deluxe Power and the American Nashville B-Bender.

I have the first two, and my B-Bender is supposed to arrive any day from Sweetwater. I really like my Deluxe. It gets a lot of attention from me. Real sweet sounding w/ the Tex-Mex pups.

The Nashville Power Tele has the Fishman Power Bridge which gives it some accoustic sounds. It sounds good, but there is potential to have trouble with the individual piezo transducer bridge pickups. Hasn't happened to me yet, cross my fingers...

The B-Bender is a whole different beast. I've only messed around with one for a few minutes, but it hooked me pretty quick. Mine has been on backorder for months, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

I see the Deluxe Nashville for sale used in the $400-500 range on eBay and other places, so you should be able to find one somewhere.

Saying all this, don't hesitate for a second if you find a nice used Standard or Thinline in your price range. They are such nice guitars, you won't be dissapointed. Good luck!

Can you post pics of your TC-90? Love those Duncan P-90s!

Beaubs,
Nice looking guitars. I have a MIM standard and it is one of my favorite Teles. IMO You can't go wrong with one. The Nashvilles are all wonderful guitars. I tried the thin lines and thought that they were nice but they didn't grab me like the Standard and nashvilles did. Hope this helps.
