Hi
I am in the process of replacing the SCN PUP's in my Tele Deluxe with the vintage Noiseless set. The SCN's have 3 wires and the Noiseless 2 (yellow and black). Can anyone please advise on the correct wiring with the S1 switch - there seems to be a lot of info on the web but not specifically a Fender wiring diagram?
Thank you

Howdy and Welcome!

Is your Dlx Tele one of these?

If so, I believe you could do a straight swap. Just ignore the extra green ground the SCN's have. VN yellow is the Hot (+) and black is the Ground (-)

Hope this helps and good luck! :D

Andy

Hi Andy

The Dlx is as per your first link (.....Pg4.pdf). The wiring differs from the .....Pg2.pdf - mainly between the 3 way switch and S1 switch. I think I will start with the neck PUP. If that is OK I'll move onto the bridge.
Thank you kindly
Roy

All,
I need the same question answered and I don't clearly see the answer in the string. I am trying to install a set of two wire noiseless vintage to this S-1 setup. The current tone does not work for me.

Current setup:
I have a American Tele Deluxe with S-1 switch (2009). The current SCN pickups have 3 wires with the below connections

Neck SCN Pickup wiring:
Black: To volume
White: To 3 way switch
Green: To tone. (Please note the tone knob has both Green and black wire groups soldered to it.)

Bridge SCN Pickup wiring:
Black: To screw in body, screw has two outgoing wires. 1 wire goes to bridge and the other goes to the tone knob
Yellow: To 3 way switch (different connetion than the neck above)
Green: To tone. This green is soldered to the same location as the neck.

How do I wire the new pickups with only yellow and black wires? Do I have to live without the s-1 switch with these new pick ups?
Is there a way to make a third connection to the new pickups so I can use the S-1 capability?

thx

I'm going by memory atm, but to replace the pickups you just need to separate the shield from negative lead for both pickups. You can then use the same wiring scheme.

EDIT: Looks like the new shield should go to where current green wires go, new black to the current black, etc.
