ok. can someone please tell me how the f*@k to post pictures to this forum?!!?!

I know the difference btwn a strat neck and body and a tele neck and body. Mine is a straight up tele, neck and body. It is just labeled as a "Stratocaster" on the head. I called Fender awhile back and the guy i talked to had no idea what could've happened.

I don't know that I'll ever find out what the deal is....

Hiya Shawner,
The truth is that several scenarios are possible and I'm not sure you'll find out which is correct....
its been a pretty long time since i worked on the guitar line, but what amx05462 is true. People do make mistakes.
During my years on the final guitar line a couple of Tele's with Strat Logos and Vice versa made it that far. Its certainly in the realm of possibility that a couple have slipped out through the years that were incorrect.
If any of the original tags, reciepts etc are with it, this would tell you the actually story more clearly.
At any rate.....I know its wrong and all.....which is why I personally kinda like it (sorry!!!!I'm sorry!!! I like odd things!!)

Best regards,
rob

thanks man. i like it too. its an interesting novelty. can't believe i've had it almost 20 years already!

i think it is just a human error (as we are all prone to). do you think it makes it worth more than a comparable tele of the same age and wear?

on a different topic altogether, what do you think of the new Blacktop tele's? played one a couple weeks ago. i like the sound of the dual humbuckers, and the back cut out made it more comfortable to play. only thing i didn't like was the volume/tone knobs. kind cheap looking.
