I own a MIM Classic player Baja Telecaster, Blonde, and this guitar is a tone machine. I love it, especially with the S-1 switching. I was wondering if anyone knows what a Custom Shop pickup is, and does it make the guitar a collector's item? Are they better than the newer telecaster PU's? Or maybe the PU's have changed to some authorized custom shop version, since the decriptive disclaimer, changes may be made without notice. (See description below)

If I'm understanding you correctly the Custom Shop pickps you speak of are Fender pickups manufactured in the Fender Custom shop, not on the regular production line. The Custom Shop 69's you mentioned are Strat pickups. I have a set in one of my Strats and they are great pickups. Some Fender guitars are built from the factory with Custom shop pickups.
For more info go to the Fender home page, click on accessories and the click on pickups. You will see available sets of Custom Shop and non Custom Shop pickups. Hope this helps.

Randy1,

No I'm just wondering if there is anyone who knows what the Telecaster custom shop '69 pickups are. Like are they anything special, like those Strat pickups you mention, those wound by Abigail Ybarra ? Are thesePU's really made by the custom shop or a mexican NAFTA variant?

Does anyone know? BTW I love way this axe speaks to me, and I've seen it's effects on the listening public. It is awesome! :P

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the CS 69 Tele pickups, but I'd sure like to find out about them. You might send an e-mail to Fender customer support and maybe they can tell you something. The last time I sent them an e-mail they responded within 12 hours.
