I'm looking for the Fender bridge that goes on the 72RI Thinline - 2 wide-range humbuckers and what looks like a hardtail strat bridge.

Mr. Gearhead calls it (the plate) "Bridge Plate, Vintage Stratocaster, part # 0010322000". Of course, there are different part numbers for each little piece, spring and screw in this assembly.

Is this the same plate offered in the assembly for "CLASSIC SERIES STRAT, HARDTAIL BRIDGE," part # 006-0068-000?

I want the mounting holes of the plate to line up with the 72RI Thinline. I'm notching the back lip out for 3 brass saddles and a Bigsby, but I don't want to mess up the original plate just in case it doesn't work out.

I'm not sure about the part #-but I wonder if the bridge might be a bit low for the Bigsby, even with notches cut.

I actually like the cast metal bridge saddles on the '72 Tele Thinline, not just for intonation; I have a couple of MIJ and CIJ '72 Thinlines, and the bass response is much better (especially the low E) than my '52 USA Tele reissue with the brass bridge, even acoustically. I wish I knew why that was, but that is what I have found.

Good luck with your project!

It will work. I have another Thinline with a regular Tele style bridge (single coil slot although it has a Barden in it) that I've had set up like this for 13 years or so. When I changed the saddles from straight brass to compensated, I had to shim the neck a little bit, but otherwise I've had no problems.
