I am trying to sell a Nashville Deluxe Tele and someone has offered to trade me a Epiphone Sheraton.

Besides musical stylistic differences, Which one do you think would be better to own in the future should I decide to sell? Overall quality?

Currently I have a MIM Strat for rock, and Ibanez Artcore hollow body for solo jazz work and am considering this above trade.

Let me know what you think. Thanks

My initial instinct is that it is a very fair trade straight-up. I checked Craigslist in my area (between NY and Philly) and there are 6 Sherrys available from $375 - 500. I think people probably are willing to pay $400 on average.

I then looked up Nashville Deluxe Teles and I saw 1 available and the guy was asking $445 obo, and I think he'll get in the $400 range as well.

I think they're really in the same range, $350 - $450. If you're not into the Tele, I'd go for it, you may like it more than the Artcore. And you can rock out on a Sherri too. I think the craftmanship is really nice on the Sherry and the inlay is really nice.

As Kong said both guitars are in the same price range, unless of course the Sheraton is a U.S. model then the value would be closer to $1,500.BTW the Sheraton is a great and beautiful guitar and I think I'd pick a Sherry over a 335.

Having owned a Sherry that spent most of it's time in the case and hidden away, I would have kept the Nashville Tele, especially if it was in mint condition.

Thanks so much for all of your input. I decided to keep the Nashville Tele and really explore all the different tones possible.

With a hollow body already in the arsenal, I think adding a Sheraton would be too much of the same sonically at this point. I am really intrigued from the sounds guys have gotten using a Telecaster for jazz (i.e. Ted Greene, Ed Bickert..) and have been really pleased so far.

Thanks again, your input was helpful.
