Just picked up Telecaster #2 this weekend, an MIM "Road Worn" '72 Custom. I'm not a big fan of aged guitars but really like the neck and finish on this baby and I fell in love with the tone in the middle position. I heard it's supposed to be a limited run. Wonder if anyone else here got one?

Hey Cab'. I don't own the road worn but I've had my 72 RI for so long now its getting there all on its own. Great guitar and I too love the middle position. I changed the pots a while back on the humbucker and it sounds even better. I usually have mine full volume and tone on the single coil and 6 on both volume and tone on the humbucker. Sounds great to me.

Mine is the black on black with maple neck version a la Keef! The only time I know of a sunburst 72 with rosewood being recorded is Izzy's guitar on Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds. I prefered the Keef version though cos I'm a stickler for maple 'boards.

Enjoy!

 My wife agrees with you about the color, she hates that sunburst finish. I even named it "El Feo" (the ugly one) 'cause she keeps knocking it.
I'm sure I'll have lots of fun playing around with blending the pickups and different tone settings. 8)
